    The Smart Storage Administrator (SSA) is a web-based application that helps you configure, manage, diagnose, and monitor Smart Array and SmartRAID Controllers and now other storage devices as well, such as host bus adapters (HBAs), Storage controllers, and future devices such as SCSI Express drives, and SAS switch devices. Smart Array Advanced Pack 1.0 and 2.0 features are now part of the baseline features of SSA, with the appropriate firmware.

    Installation Instructions

    Prerequisites:

    The Smart Storage Administrator for Linux requires the System Management Homepage software to be installed on the server.  If the System Management Homepage software is not already installed on your server, please download it from HPE.com and install it before installing the Smart Storage Administrator for Linux.

    IMPORTANT UPDATE: SSA (GUI) for Linux can now be run without requiring the System Management Homepage.  SSA now supports a Local Application Mode for Linux.  The System Management Homepage is still supported, but no longer required to run the SSA GUI.

    To invoke, enter the following at the command prompt:

    ssa -local

    The command will start SSA in a new Firefox browser window. When the browser window is closed, SSA will automatically stop. This is only valid for the loopback interface, and not visible to external network connections.

    To ensure the integrity of your download, HPE recommends verifying your results with the following SHA-256 Checksum values:

    Reboot Requirement:
    Reboot is optional after installation. Updates will be effective after reboot. Hardware stability will be maintained without reboot.

    Installation:

    • SSA is distributed using Red Hat Package Manager (RPM) packages.
    • If there is an older version of SSA installed on the system, please use “rpm -e ssa” to remove it first.
    • Use “rpm -i <file name>” to install the application.
    • Please type “man rpm” for other details regarding RPM.
    • The software resides in /opt/smartstorageadmin/ssa and the executable name is ssa which is located in /usr/sbin.

    Very Important

    you need to login as root user in gui mode after that go to terminal and pass command ssa -local

    if you login with other administrator user, it will give error and will not open firefox due to security permission.

    it is opening url : 127.0.0.1:5difig port (every time change) firefox

    make sure you disable block popup window from firefox
